Practical 4 : Undertake self-assessment test to discover your entrepreneurial traits.

Here are some self-assessment parameters to consider if we want to become an entrepreneur:

1. Passion: Do you have a strong passion for starting your own business and being your own boss? Are you willing to put in the long hours and hard work required to make your business a success?

Answer: 

Write one or many of the below passions:

a) Technology and Innovation: Many students have a passion for technology and innovation, and may be interested in pursuing careers in fields such as software development, artificial intelligence, or digital marketing.

b) Social Responsibility: Students who are passionate about social responsibility may be interested in pursuing careers in sustainable business practices, corporate social responsibility, or non-profit organizations.

c)  Marketing and Sales: Some students may have a passion for marketing and sales, and may be interested in pursuing careers in advertising, public relations, or sales management.

d) Finance and Accounting: Students who enjoy working with numbers and have an analytical mindset may be interested in pursuing careers in finance and accounting, such as financial analysis, investment banking, or accounting.

e)  Entrepreneurship: Some students may have a passion for entrepreneurship and starting their own businesses. They may be interested in pursuing careers as small business owners, startup founders, or venture capitalists.

f)   Management and Leadership: Students who have strong leadership skills and enjoy working with teams may be interested in pursuing careers in management and leadership, such as project management, operations management, or executive leadership.

 

2.  Risk-taking ability: Are you comfortable with taking risks and making tough decisions? Are you able to handle failure and learn from it?

Answer: 

As a student interested in business, it is important to understand the concept of risk-taking and its importance in the world of entrepreneurship. Risk-taking ability refers to a person's willingness and ability to take risks in order to achieve their business goals. It is a key factor in determining the success of a business venture, as well as the potential rewards and consequences.

3.  Creativity: Are you able to come up with innovative ideas and think outside the box? Are you able to adapt to changing circumstances and find solutions to problems?

Answer: 

As a computer polytechnic student, one of my creativity qualities is the ability to think outside the box. I enjoy exploring unconventional solutions to problems and finding new ways to approach challenges. This often involves experimenting with different technologies and software tools to create innovative solutions. By thinking creatively, I am able to come up with unique ideas and approaches that can help me stand out in the field of computer technology.

4.  Leadership: Do you have the ability to lead and inspire others? Are you able to delegate tasks and manage a team effectively?

5.  Financial management: Are you able to manage your finances effectively and make sound financial decisions? Do you have a good understanding of accounting, budgeting, and cash flow management?

Answer: 

As a computer polytechnic student, financial management is a critical skill that I have learned to appreciate. It involves the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of financial resources to achieve a company's objectives. Financial management helps to ensure that resources are used efficiently and effectively to achieve the best possible return on investment. By understanding financial management, I can make better business decisions and manage my personal finances more effectively. This is essential for any individual or organization looking to succeed in today's competitive economy.

6.  Networking skills: Are you able to build relationships and network effectively? Do you have a strong network of contacts that can help you with your business?

Answer: 

As a computer student, I have developed strong networking skills. I am able to build and maintain professional relationships with peers, professors, and industry professionals. This allows me to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in the field of computer technology and identify new opportunities for personal and professional growth. By leveraging my networking skills, I am able to build a strong foundation for a successful career in the tech industry.

7.  Time management: Are you able to manage your time effectively and prioritize tasks? Are you able to balance multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines?

Answer: 

As a computer student, time management is a critical skill that I have honed. I am able to prioritize tasks effectively, plan my schedule efficiently, and meet deadlines consistently. This ensures that I am able to balance my academic and personal responsibilities while still making time for personal growth and development. By managing my time effectively, I am able to achieve success both in and outside of the classroom.

8. Adaptability: Are you able to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs? Are you able to pivot your business strategy if necessary?

9. Perseverance: Are you able to persevere through tough times and keep pushing forward? Are you able to maintain a positive attitude and stay motivated despite setbacks?

10. Self-motivation: Are you able to stay motivated and disciplined when working on your own? Are you able to stay focused and productive without the structure of a traditional work environment?

As a computer student, self-motivation is one of my core qualities. I am driven by a passion for technology and a desire to constantly improve my skills. This motivates me to set ambitious goals, work hard, and persevere in the face of challenges. By staying self-motivated, I am able to achieve my personal and professional goals and stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving field of computer technology.
